What stays on your device

Imported photos, videos and audio files stay on your devices. There is no Stashed-hosted media service. Optional auto-copy in development builds only copies new imports to a folder you have chosen; the provider may then upload them. This is not two-way sync or verified backup. Keep a separate backup of anything important.

How long files are kept

Managed copies remain until you remove them. Android Recently Deleted keeps managed copies for up to 30 days and removes expired copies when the app next opens. Android Delete local data asks the system to clear all Stashed app data, including managed copies, legacy downloads and the vault. Provider originals and exported cloud copies stay separate and are not removed. This retention behaviour is not yet identical on every platform. Stashed does not set a server retention period for your local library because it does not hold that library on a server. Deleting a copy in Stashed does not necessarily delete the original or other backups.

Connections you choose

When you choose an import from another provider, that provider handles its own sign-in and permission screens. Its own privacy and retention rules apply to the files it already holds. Importing is not permission to delete your originals.

This website

This static preview has no analytics scripts, sign-up forms or file uploads. A future hosting provider may process technical request information to deliver the website; hosting details and retention must be confirmed before public launch.

What is still planned

On-device natural-language search, AI edits and sharing are roadmap ideas, not released services. Private photos must not go to cloud AI without explicit opt-in. Any future external processing will need its own clear privacy explanation.
